Artists Statement:

I make stuff with clay cos’ I like how it feels in my hands and I like how it smells.
I slab build cos’ it’s fast and I can do it in the lounge while I watch TV.
I often make vessels cos’ that’s the way the clay seems to want to go.
What I really like about clay, is that, if I had nothing left in the world I could still make stuff from clay. I could dig my own clay; make all sorts of useful things for cooking, storage and trading. I could make my own glaze and build my own kiln to fire it
– that makes me feel resourceful.
