I was born and bred in West Auckland, New Zealand and began making art including ceramics from an early age.

I attended Unitec and gained a Bachelor of Design (Hons, Sculpture) in 2001, and have since continued to develop my creative practice. Sculptural ceramics and art medals are my primary artistic mediums which I exhibit regularly, mainly in the Auckland region.

My artistic influences range from classical sculpture through to Mayan pottery and surrealist painting. Architectural and avian features commonly appear in my pieces.

Ultimately, I want each artwork to speak for itself. I want the viewer to respond to the work rather than get caught up in trying to unravel obscure conceptual meanings.

I enjoy working with other artists and am a founding member of the Urban Archaeology Collective. A member of the Medal Art New Zealand (MANZ) group, the Auckland Studio Potters and the International Art Medal Federation (FIDEM).

In my day job I work in project and website coordination and publication design. In 2007 I established my own boutique publication company 'Random Acts of Publishing' which provides writing, design and publication management services for artist's and creative projects such as exhibition catalogues.

In mid 2010 I left Auckland for the UK and Europe where I'll be travelling for a few months, hopefully making some art along the way.
